It uses DHCP and will assign you with an IP address if you are properly configured.

Unfortunately, since there are numerous operating systems and an almost infinite number of hardware configurations, you'll have to figure it out yourself. If you don't understand, just use the Audrey. It's not a desktop, but you'll be able to get around the Internet.
