In an effort to make your stay as convenient as possible, we have
installed a dedicated Internet connection (DSL), which you may access
via an Internet Appliance created by 3Com - The Audrey.
The Audrey is not a desktop computer, but will allow you to browse the
network, check a calendar and check your email. Unfortunately, 3Com
has discontinued the production of this product, so the Channels feature
(selected by the big round dial at the bottom of the display screen), does
not work.
More information for these components is listed below:
The address book will store all the bookmarks (favorite sites marked) that are entered or chosen. Audrey's web browser does not support file download features because there is no hard drive to store large amounts of data. There will be no response from Audrey if you tap a download feature on a web page. If Audrey encounters an unsupported or incompatible file or format, the following will be displayed: This web site contains content which Audrey does not currently support. Some web sites require Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator for viewing all their functions and features. When those sites detect a different browser, the page will not display or will prompt the download of one of the listed browsers. Audrey displays no message or acknowledgement of any problem with these sites. Audrey terminates analog web browser connections automatically when no activity occurs for a 15-minute period. Inactivity means that Audrey is not surfing the web, playing streaming audio files, or interacting on the web. This automatic timeout of 15 minutes cannot be changed.
Sprint DSL features: Sprint FastConnect provides a dedicated connection, not a shared connection like a cable modem. With a shared connection you have no control over how many users share your connection or have access to your data. As the number of people using the cable line go up, your access speed goes down. With a Sprint FastConnect dedicated line, you have the control.
